Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity increased its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the same, a report published Thursday claimed.

Based on data from the US Department of Labor, the business aimed to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas covering workers including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the record filed by the company, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that the former president had sought to hire over a hundred overseas workers for temporary positions at his Florida resort, according to labor statistics.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the business aimed to hire 566 foreign laborers over the period the former president has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, Trump was criticized by some in the Republican party this week for remarks justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a country is entering, going to spend $10bn to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after it was implied that overseas employees undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a request for comment, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
