The United Kingdom Prepared to Utilize Seized Russian Assets to Fund Ukraine's Military Campaign
The UK is ready to advance with utilizing the entire amount of frozen Russian funds to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.
In a joint statement, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to come to the table.
They clarified that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.
United Kingdom restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had solely been taken from profits and interest generated on them.
Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.
He noted that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Russia.
This statement is subsequent to European leaders convened in Copenhagen recently to debate employing seized Russia's assets for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.
Recently, US President Donald Trump urged international partners to confiscate or employ seized Russian funds, according to media sources.
The worth of seized Russia's holdings in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched widespread aerial attacks all over the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing power cuts in significant regions of the capital city, the city, and multiple additional areas.

While applauding the Britain's firm backing for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the program, as well as impose additional measures on the Russian Federation.
